Freedom of speech is just that. First of all, the so called ‘A-list’ bloggers are for the most part a bunch of constipated fat dweebs who think when they discover something, that they are the first to have conquered the new territory in question.

Example: Twitter. It’s what livejournal was in 2000 only with Twitter, you get a much more primitive system, you loose 7 years of livejournal’s advancements, and a bunch of very boring people for the most part. Of course the interesting people end up boring too because they have mainly boring people to read and write to.

OK, but that’s not the issue. Let me first say I don’t know M(any) of the people involved in this silliness. The posts on the blog(s) which were deleted were IN NO WAY death threats. Please, talk to Anne Coulter, Pat Robertson, or Bill O’Reilly if you want to learn about death threats.

The blogger making a fuss is some marketing slut. She could very well be using this as an opportunity to further whatever her carpal tunneled agenda is.

There was an interview a while ago by CHAOS Radio of the CCC Berlin with the guys who run thepiratebay.org. Listen to that interview. It’s good. Thepiratebay.org has a policy of no censorship whatsoever. They say (in my words) that censorship has to be all or nothing.

I hate writing. I like talking, so I will be brief.

So, twatface, quit being a primadonna and if you want people to read your blog, try being INTERESTING and more importantly, HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR ABOUT YOURSELF!

I heard that Robert Scobelly is not blogging for a week in protest.

Thank Goddess. This is so dumb. The net is no place for the humourless.

P.S. HOPING someone dies is very different from threatening to do it. If I say I hope you get cancer, does that mean I’m threatening your life? If the law is so clear, sue the fucker. Seriously. If you’re serious, then you should go all the way instead of making it look like a PR stunt. You (the blogger complaining) are not the president, yet you seem to think presidential secret service protection applies to you. Go all the way. See if you can get the ISP subpoenaed and press charges.

P.P.S. I just found out that the comments ‘hoping that she would die’ were in HER OWN BLOG! This a profane attack on free speech. She should be suing herself!

By Rob Stein
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, March 18, 2007; A03

The number of kidneys, livers and other body parts surgeons are harvesting through a controversial approach to organ donation has started to rise rapidly, a trend that is saving the lives of more waiting patients but, some say, risks sacrificing the interests of the donors.

Under the procedure, surgeons are removing organs within minutes after the heart stops beating and doctors declare a patient dead. Since the 1970s, most organs have been removed only after doctors declared a patient brain dead.

Federal health officials, transplant surgeons and organ banks are promoting the alternative as a way to meet the increasing demand for organs and to give more dying patients and their families the solace of helping others.

Some doctors and bioethicists, however, say the practice raises the disturbing specter of transplant surgeons preying on dying patients for their organs, possibly pressuring doctors and families to discontinue treatment, adversely affecting donors’ care in their final days and even hastening their deaths.

Nevertheless, the number of these donations is on the rise. It more than doubled from 268 in 2003 to at least 605 in 2006, enabling surgeons to transplant more than 1,200 additional kidneys, livers, lungs, hearts and other organs.

“It’s starting to go up exponentially, said James Burdick, who leads organ-donor efforts at the federal Department of Health and Human Services.

New site for people with disabilities ~ tech of a wheelee:

Having a disability and really using the internet and technology as a tool for networking. I have found a sight called DisabledUnited.com. It is a message board, forum for dating similar to myspace. It is also a place where people with disabilities can learn about good ways to travel, accessible cities, and the best medical equipment available. A friend introduced me to the site. I have tried it for about two weeks and have mixed feelings about the forum. In my profile I put “in relationship and “here for friends but the amount of guys that want to chat and hit on you is amazing. I know it happens everywhere, but this is ridiculous. I get an email about every hour from some guy wanting to chat. Disability networking would be great if the majority of members in the forums wanted to be there for more than just finding a companion.

Since a friend from myspace is a also a member I may stick with it to see how the forum grows. Hopefully in a positive way.
Editor’s Note: Art Buchwald asked that this column be distributed following his death. Buchwald wrote the column on Feb. 8, 2006, after deciding to check into a hospice, suffering from kidney failure. He had discontinued dialysis and also had one of his legs amputated below the knee. He subsequently was released from the hospice, wrote a book about his experience and also resumed writing his syndicated newspaper column. He died Wednesday surrounded by family members.

A federal appeals court ruled today that Maryland violated federal law when it required Wal-Mart Stores to increase spending on employee health insurance, in a decision that appears likely to end a bitter yearlong legal battle that pitted state legislators, organized labor and health care advocates against the nation’s largest retailer.

The 2-to-1 ruling by a panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit is a major setback — if not a fatal blow — for a nascent campaign, called “fair share, that sought to move millions of America’s working poor off of state-sponsored insurance programs, like Medicaid, and on to employer-based plans.

Facing ballooning Medicaid costs, the Maryland state legislature last year passed a law forcing major employers to spend the equivalent of 8 percent of their payrolls on health care. But it structured the legislation so that it was aimed at only one company — Wal-Mart, which has many workers rely on Medicaid in states from Maryland to Georgia.

Encouraged by the Maryland law, the first of its kind in the nation, lawmakers in dozens of other states said they would introduce similar bills to confront spiraling Medicaid costs.

Most everyone who is reading this knows what happened to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 04, 1968. Some of you may even know what happened to my son, Spc. Casey Austin Sheehan on April 04, 2004. If you don’t know, Dr King and Casey were murdered by the same malevolent entities: People and ideologies that say that we have to be mortally afraid of the “ism” du jour and we, as Americans who have the “moral high-ground” in the world can send our innocent children to invade innocent countries and kill innocent people to fight the “ists” that go with the “isms.” In Vietnam we were fighting the evil Communists and in Iraq we are fighting the evil terrorists. Our war against Communism out-stayed its welcome in the 1980′s and the military industrial war complex was running out of excuses to build bombs, tanks, bullets, ships, submarines, and soldiers; so in 2001, our leaders who serve the war machine had to switch our enemy of the state to terrorism.

Dr. King had the temerity to challenge the war machine and war racketeers on April 04, 1967 in his famous speech on Vietnam…and he paid for that bit of inspired, courageous, honesty with his life exactly one year later. Casey had the naïve gall to join the US Army thinking he would be making the world a better, safer place… and he paid for that kind of immature (but honest) patriotic mistake with his wonderful life.

Casey was a brave and honorable man who we were told volunteered to go on the mission that killed him to save the lives of his buddies. He was shot in the back of the head and died a little while later in a medic’s station while a medic was trying to hold his brains in while the doctors tried to keep him breathing. We have heard many wildly disparate stories of Casey’s last few minutes on earth, I don’t know if we will ever know the truth. One thing I do know, however, is that like Dr. King, Casey’s murder will be to advance the cause for peace and in the name of love.

Aggression Types and Criminal Behavior

Psychology traditionally has defined aggression as behavior against another that intentionally inflicts harm (geer, 1990). This definition, though sufficient for many applications of the word, is not specific enough for the comprehensive understanding of aggressive behavior.

Moyer (1976) identified eight distinct kinds of aggression that can be found in some form it virtually all species, including human behavior. Moyers types are:

(1) Predatory Aggression: our motivated attack behaviors. This aggression is directed to natural prey and is deeply routed in our ancestors hunting behavior. Today it can be seen in the behavior of normal individuals as hunting. Forensic implications: A variety of deviant and abnormal subjects may see others humans as lesser beings. The deviant, which may include narcissists, could see others as non-equals and may not have any moral issues with stealing or hurting such individuals. The psychopath cannot see through the eyes of others and may also not consider them as equals. Such an individual may not have moral qualms with seriously injuring or even killing others.

(2) Intermale Aggression: physical violence or submissive behavior displayed by males towards each other. Forensic implications: these intermale drives could be an explanatory framework for the high rates of intermale violence. Possible causes for such violence could be perceived competition for resources and ego threats that one male feels is being created by a second male.

(3) Fear-Induced Aggression: responses believed to be biologically programmed into us so that we act in an aggressive manner towards any form of forced confinement. Forensic implications: such aggression could be a major issue to prison environments. If already aggressive individuals are placed into an environment that fosters aggression via confinement violence risk may be increased.

(4) Territorial Aggression: threat or attack behavior displayed towards an invasion of ones territory or the submissive-retreat behavior displayed when confronted while intruding. Forensic implications: invasion of ones territory can include much more then property. A believe that one is encroaching on ones status could also be considered an invasion. The loss of power in relationships that can lead to spouse abuse could possibly be explained by this aggression model.

(5) Maternal Aggression: aggressive behavior put forward by females (and most likely males as well) when an intruder is in the presence of ones children. Forensic implications: none other then crimes explained by the situation that the definition gives.

(6) Irritable Aggression: aggression and rage directed towards an object when the aggressor is frustrated, hurt, deprived, or stressed. As a result one may aggress towards objects as an acceptable outlet of the aggression. Forensic implications: some individuals whom do not use, or have available, appropriate outlets could have a spill over of aggression onto others.

(7) Sex related aggression: aggressive behavior that is elicited by the same stimuli that elicits sexual behavior. Any person who can evoke sexual desire can equally evoke aggression via jealousy, etc.. Forensic implications: besides the obvious jealousy-violence reactions, some individuals may for one reason or another come to associate sexual desire with violence and dominance. This association could possibly explain a number of violent sexual acts that occur.

(8) Instrumental Aggression: aggressive behavior displayed because it previously resulted in a reward. Much of human aggression seems to be related to this. Forensic implications: a possible theory for a number of crimes. If one has received an reward (money, sexual gratification) due to a deviant aggressive act that they had performed they will be conditioned towards committing that act again when they are motivated to obtain that previously possessed reward.

Daily Kos: History will Not Absolve Us
Today, the Congress has forever stained its reputation and that of the United States of America. It is now a foregone conclusion that the execrable detainee bill will be adopted without amendment. There will be no filibuster, as Democrat Senate Leader Reid agreed with Senate Leader Frist to allow a vote on the bill after dispensation of the proposed amendments debated yesterday and today. Senator Reid made a terrible tactical decision in making this agreement. These amendments had no chance of passing. They had value in highlighting the outrageousness of this bill and in thus justifying a filibuster. But without a filibuster, the exercsie was an empty one. We admire Harry Reid’s leadership but, in this monumental moment, his instincts and judgment failed him. And his place in history will be marked by this terrible day.

That said, let us not forget who authored this travesty; who stands for torture, for a dictatorial Presidency and against the Constitution and the rule of law–the Rubber Stamp Republican Congress. The David Broders of the world exhult at the “independence” of such cowards as McCain, Warner, Graham and Dewine. But this is a farce. The votes on habeas corpus, the President’s power to arbitraily define torture and to detain indefinitely–merely on his word, without judicial recourse–anyone, including, American citizens, show these men to be the rankest of cowards–and the worst kind too. For they pretend to be otherwise. And the Broders of the world, the immoral and amoral Beltway Establishment, pretend it is true.

To their credit, the vast majority of Democratic legislators stood against torture, with their words and their votes. And history will remember that. But the Democratic Senators did not fight to the end, and that too history will remember.
