Small number of “Video iPods” infected with Windows virus
October 17, 2006 – According to a note on Apple’s support pages, a small number of fifth-generation iPods have shipped with the Windows virus RavMonE.exe.

Apple says the iPods left the manufacturing facility infected with the virus and the company has received “less than 25 reports concerning this problem.” The issue is believed to have affected a small number of iPods shipped after September 12, 2006. iPod nanos and iPod shuffle models are not affected, nor are any fifth-generation iPods currently on store shelves or in transit to customers.
