Audio Only Transitions in Final Cut Pro X
Categories: Politics

Just to let you know so you don’t have to spend hours searching for this like I did:

You cannot do audio only transitions in FCPX. There is a work around:

hdedition: @bloatedlesbian Use two seperate Audio layers and indiivdually cross fade the end/beginning of each one. Need workarounds at this stage.

For me this is a deal breaker. I use audio only transitions way to often to have to do this work-around. I even had to delete an almost finished edit and start over in FCP7 because it took less time than to do the work around.

I totally agree. When I found about about this it was the final nail in the coffin. I had tried to stay positive up until that point but this was the final nail in the coffin. I’ll probably stay with FCP 7 for a while and then switch to some other program.

Yep, couldn’t agree more. So many things are absolutely ridiculous, and despite trying to be positive about FCP X, I’m tired of all the workarounds, I’d have finished this edit in literally half the time if I’d used 7, the new additions they’ve added (keyword-ing being the main one) are far outweighed by the rest of the problems and stupid ‘improvements’ they’ve made. I’ve had it. I’m hoping they rename X with something other than FCP in front of it, because it really resembles very little of what we’ve all become used to. A massive step backwards.
